Who are we?
The Southwestern League of Fine Arts (SLFA) was organized to promote the rights, abilities, and education of the artist.  Its members consist of artists in all mediums--both amateur and professional-- and non-artists who are interested in the arts.  It is open to adults of all ages.

What are we doing?
SLFA has monthly meetings (except during the summer) featuring art-related programs, usually a demonstration, sometimes a model to draw, a critique, or even a class  with member participation.
SLFA has a monthly newsletter, The ARTery, which keeps members informed of the League’s activities as well as listing opportunities available to artists for exhibition in the local area and state-wide.

How do I become a member?
Any interested person, from eighteen years to senior citizen, may join as a General Member.  The cost is $30.00 per year.  Benefits of General Membership include the right to vote in SLFA elections, to hold office, to attend all meetings, to exhibit in SLFA All-Member Shows, and to receive the monthly newsletter.  The Membership Chairman can answer any other questions you may have and provide you with an application form.

Where do we meet and when?
Meetings are held the third Monday of each month at the Ward 6 Council Office, 3202 E. First Street. The General Meeting begins at 1:00 pm. After a short business meeting the program begins, lasting until 3:00 pm.  If you would like to come to a meeting as a guest, please check with the Membership Chairman beforehand.

How do I exhibit in shows? 
An entry form will be printed in the ARTery that will list the criteria for entering any SLFA show.  There will be at least one juried show each year where you will send digital prints of your artwork to be juried by a non-member juror.  A letter with the results will be sent to each member as to the outcome of the jury process.
